Kitchen Garden at The White House

Our new piece of land at the back of The Old Barn is coming along nicely.  Over the past week we have planted a wide range of fruit and vegetables in our kitchen garden including parsnips, carrots, broccoli, courgettes, pumpkin, spinach, peas, green beans, blueberries, cauliflower and beetroot.  Our car park has been laid and all that is now needed is decorative topping, and we even have a piece laid to turf.  Instant grass!  And my daughter, Lucy, has also planted a wild flower garden.

Very much looking forward to watching all of the plants grow over the coming weeks.

A huge welcome to our American guests

We were delighted to welcome our first guests to The White House Bed and Breakfast on Saturday evening.  The last couple of days have been disappointing in terms of weather following the recent warm spell, but we are back to sunshine today.  Perfect for a trip to Glastonbury Tor to see the sun rise, which was on the itinerary for our guests today.

Good weather also for the Brimar Vintage and Classic car run at Clarks Village in Street.  This charity event runs between 1pm and 4pm.

The White House Dulcote is finally ready to welcome our guests!

After a final week of hard work we are  finally ready to welcome our first guests on Saturday and everything looks beautiful.  The blossom is spectacular and apparently, because of the wonderful weather we have been enjoying this Spring,  it is the best year for blossom in 80 years, Look at our website at www.thewhitehousedulcote.co.uk to see the final pictures of our Old Barn

Preparations for Wells May Day Celebrations

While we are all set for the Easter break here at The White House, and very much looking forward to catching up with old friends, Wells Lions are already looking ahead to May Day.  The Wells May Day Fair, held on Monday 4th May, will take place in the Market Square and Cathedral Green.  Maypole dancing around the tallest maypole in Somerset, music and vintage vehicles are just some of the attractions at the event.
